Perjuma AgTech retains personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) of Ghana and the regulations enforced by the Data Protection Commission (DPC). Under Section 31 of Act 843, personal data must not be kept for longer than is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or subsequently processed.
Our specific retention periods are as follows:
- Account and contact data (name, email, phone): retained for the duration of our business relationship and for up to 3 years after the last interaction, in line with limitation periods under Ghanaian law.
- FarmSight field and agronomic data: retained for the duration of your active service agreement and for up to 24 months thereafter to support seasonal trend analysis and service continuity. You may request earlier deletion subject to any contractual obligations.
- Enquiry and correspondence records: retained for up to 2 years from the date of correspondence.
- Financial and transaction records: retained for a minimum of 6 years as required under Ghanaian tax and financial regulations.
Once the applicable retention period expires, personal data is securely deleted or anonymised so that it can no longer be attributed to an identifiable individual. As a data controller registered (or in the process of registering) with the Data Protection Commission, Perjuma AgTech is committed to full compliance with Act 843 and any subsidiary legislation or DPC guidance issued thereunder.
7. Your Rights Under Ghana's Data Protection Act
Under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
